Well guys, I did another trip to the store where retro-gaming-wet-dreams are created, and it seems that the supply might just be running out. They don’t seem to have put anything new out, and many racks are starting to look a little bare. Sad, sad news for this old hoarder. π
Still, I walked out of there with 100+ titles, so I can’t complain just yet. π
The PCEngine:
The Famicom:
The Super Famicom:
Xbox, Dreamcast and Saturn:
As you can see I pretty much just picked up anything worth grabbing this time, no matter if I had it before or not. I did get some new SFC games that I didn’t have, plus a few other new titles, but the jaw-dropping finds just weren’t present this time around.
I will definitely be heading there when I get some more time later this week, so I hope there will be a few new titles out, but I am not overly hopeful….
So has this super haul of Japanese goodness finally come to an end? I seriously hope not, but sadly it seems to be looking that way. I still can’t get a conclusive answer out of any of the employees, so it may not be a closing down sale, but one thing is for certain, the retro gaming section has more than halved in size. π
Even if you’re adventures are coming to an end, I’m sure I can speak for all of your readers in saying thank you for taking us along for the ride, it’s been awesome π
+1 to the comment above by Sean.
Hollo, re PC Engine HuCard games, you must be getting close to a complete set? Assuming you keep records, how many unique games do you have? -If you don’t mind me asking. π
Thanks guys. The optimist in me still believes there will be new stock next time I go, but I won’t get a chance to get there this week due to a change in schedule – wallet needs a rest anyway. π
I’m up to 230ish unique HuCards, so that means still another 80ish to go. Unfortunately there are a few that I probably won’t get a hold of anytime soon, but I hope to at least get within 10 cards of the full set – hope being the operative word there. π
